What makes us different
Our story
The growing use of PVC flexible containers addressed to the i.v. and dialysis solution industry as well as a geographic region that will soon become the epicenter of the Eastward-oriented European Union, attracted the interest of a family-owned Pharmaceutical Group that since the 30s was undisputed Italian leader in the i.v. solution industry.
This Group, being the founding member, decided to establish S.I.F.RA. EST S.p.A. (Società Italiana Farmaceutici Ravizza Est S.p.A.) in Trieste.
1988
Foundation of the company
S.I.F.RA. EST S.p.A. is founded, backed by a long-standing industrial group in the medical-infusion sector.
1989
Started the construction
On a surface of 12.000 mІ, located in Via Caboto 19/8, S.I.F.RA. EST S.p.A. started the construction of a 8.000 mІ production facility addressed to the production and transformation of non-toxic PVC for medical use
1992
Production capacity increased
The plant was already producing granules, tubular films, tubes and flexible bags made of PVC. 1993-2000 the overall production capacity increased.
2001-2015
Technology upgrade
6 fully automatic lines for the production of PVC flexible containers are installed (5 Colpitt brand and 1 KIefel) reaching the global output of more than 80,0M bags/year
2013
New PVC-FREE product line’s launch
With the installation of a high-speed Plümat bag-maker and a co-extrusion quenching line, Sifra Est launched MAGIFLEX®, a PVC-Free product line of steam-sterilizable films, tubes, and flexible containers — a new standard for large-volume parenterals and injectable solutions.
Like its PVC range, Sifra Est’s fully integrated production ensures complete process control and outstanding quality-to-cost performance
2018-2019
Company expansion
The adjoining land (10.000 mІ) with annexed building (5.500 mІ) is purchased and renovated to become new Sifra Est’s logistic hub. Last but not least, the “Quality/Price ratio” of S.I.F.RA. EST’s products is the third pillar of its philosophy. The Company sells all over the world high-quality products for very affordable prices.
